Money Market Funds

A Money Market Unit Trust fund invests in money and capital market instruments. These funds have an extremely conservative risk profile and the risk to capital loss is extremely low. The maturity structure of a money market fund allows the rate of return to keep track with the current interest rate cycle.

Capricorn Asset Management manages a range of money market funds for private clients as well as funds that are available to the public.

Capricorn Enhanced Cash Fund

The Capricorn Enhanced Cash Fund, formerly Bank Windhoek Term Fund, aims to provide a higher return than money market funds whilst limiting capital losses. This is achieved by investing in instruments with a longer duration than money market instruments and at the same time limiting the maximum investment period. The constraint on the maximum investment period limits the extent of potential downward adjustments to unit value due to market value movements. The target duration is 365 days. The fund is suitable for investors requiring a higher return than money market funds, with limited capital adjustments due to market movements whilst maintaining the option to realise the investment at short notice. The Fund's Benchmark is the IJG 12 Month TB Index.
